Pay rate: $30-35/hr DOE
One of our global retail and fashion/apparel manufacturing clients is looking for a contract Product Development and Costing Manager to join their team for a long-term contract role covering an employee on leave.
This Product Development and Costing Manager will be responsible for driving the end-to-end development process and cross functional efforts across the brand to produce best in class market products.
The Product Development Manager must have experience driving the development and execution across teams and being accountable for organizing cross functional design/tech/material/sourcing and quality teams to finalize products. In addition, should also be comfortable collaborating with factory partners, supply chain ops, regional sourcing teams, and licensees to develop competitive sourcing strategies and best costing.
Ideal Product Development/Costing Manager candidates will have:
- At least 3-5+ years of related professional experience
- BA Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fully proficient with Microsoft Excel and complex data management
- Experience with product commercialization with a focus on cost engineering, sourcing, and vendor relations
- Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing and sourcing products from Asia and Central America
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams with excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
Capable of driving and executing complex projects

- Passion for the Outdoor industry

Job Responsibilities:
- Drives cross functional coordination of the product development process for assigned categories
- Executes and supports the pre-determined development calendar with cross functional teams
- Develops products, recommends materials, and construction techniques that meet Design expectations and meet or exceed gross margin targets
- Aligns on the specifications for the products with Design, Technical Development, and Materials based on seasonal product briefs
- Partners with Technical Development, Design and Material Sourcing to work with Manufacturers to development new materials, construction techniques, process, and samples used to create innovative and technically best in class products
- Partner with Regional Sourcing Offices on product allocation decisions for all Global product
- Leads and manages costing process from pre-cost to commercialization to achieve financial margin targets
